LEARN HOW to creatively solve complex problems.

Design Thinking is a human-centered methodology for innovation. This popular approach emphasizes deep listening, empathy, whole-brain thinking, radical collaboration, and creativity. Beyond its use for traditional product development, it has been applied to a variety of fields such as architecture, urban planning, social innovation, public governance, as well as career and workflow planning.

This intense, hands-on, 2-day workshop is designed for professionals who want to learn about the theory and practice of Design Thinking.

During this workshop you will learn how to apply this innovative and highly structured methodology to your work. We will start by internalizing the Design Thinking mindset.  Next we will do a deep-dive of the five steps of the Design Thinking process: empathize, define (the problem), ideate, prototype and test.

In doing so, you will learn how to:

  • Clearly and concretely define the problem you are working on.

  • Identify your users and empathize deeply with their specific needs.

  • Think ‘outside of the box’ and come up with truly innovative ideas.

  • Quickly make your ideas tangible through prototypes.

  • Test your ideas so you immediately get powerful feedback.

You will work through a series of Design Challenges and Group Exercises. At the end of the workshop, you will be able to apply the Design Thinking method to creatively, effectively and quickly solve problems in your work and life.

Ready to make a change in your career? About to graduate?  Not sure what’s next? Feeling a little stuck or pulled in multiple directions?

This workshop teaches you how to apply design thinking principles to your life. Using the same hands-on methodology that has revolutionized how companies such as Apple and Google do business, this workshop gives you the tools to deliberately and creatively shape your personal and professional future. It empowers you to identify and articulate your strengths and interests, create individualized career opportunities, and come up with a plan of action that is uniquely tailored to your needs, talents and passions. You will develop clarity and focus regarding what matters to you. You will discover new ways of thinking about your personal and professional life that will energize you and move you forward. In addition, you will learn a dynamic and innovative method for overcoming future personal or professional obstacles.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Critically analyze the thought patterns and assumptions that underlie your actions

  • Identify your unique professional and personal assets

  • Clarify and articulate your authentic interests and values

  • Prototype and test innovative career options

  • Develop a concrete goal for your  mid-term career as well as draw a realistic road-map to get you there

  • Apply the design-thinking method to creatively problem-solve in your personal and professional life.

Design YOUR TIME: Productivity and Time management in the Digital Age

Are your work days busy yet unproductive?  Do you struggle to make progress on your most important projects? Do you have so much on your plate that you’re having a hard time setting priorities? Want to discover how simple yet powerful changes in your daily routine, habits, and mindset can enable you to get more traction on the tasks that count?

This workshop is for professionals whose work environment demands a high level of self-direction, agility, and creativity such as project managers, knowledge-workers, entrepreneurs, and creatives. You will learn to apply principles from design, agile and entrepreneurial thinking to cultivate laser-like focus, gain more control over your day and increase your productivity. This one-day workshop blends practical insights and tools with a powerful reflection into your individual habits, beliefs, and processes.

The workshop starts by enabling you to identify your value-adding work and distinguish it from support activities. You will also uncover hidden distractions (beyond the obvious, such as social media), non-value-adding habits and dysfunctional beliefs that are deeply ingrained in your daily routine. Armed with a deep understanding of your unique process, a second series of exercises enables you to apply individual prioritization strategies, articulate SMART goals, break large tasks into manageable steps and, most importantly, learn to effectively manage your time, energy and attention within your unique work environment.

At the end of the day, you will have a deep understanding of how you work and be armed with the tools and mindset to continually optimize your productive process and be an agile problem-solver and thinker.
